Circular Arguments

Circular arguments

Circle life’s drain

Life’s cyclical

And I’m stuck in a cycle

Wash me in afterthought

Rinse me with patterns

Of forgot and forgiveness

Repeat until we’re old

And can hardly see

Cycles were taught

Cycles we bought

Cycles we created

Can’t get enough of

And now are getting too much

Life’s a standstill

And I’m watching it unfold

The days and nights

Months and years

Stuck in the latitude of grief

And the longitude of fear

Something tells me

It’s running out

But I don’t where the end is

And the scarcity of strength

Is sincere
