Time Never Lets Me Be

It fell like rain

From my mind

To the ends of the page

As I’ve aged

13, 14, 15

16 17, 18

Nearly another birthday

Yet time never lets me be happy

If I could find a way

I would cure the misconception

Rid us of stereotype

And bleed the fattened calves

Of all the misdeed

A warrior without weapons

Murderer who spills only his blood

A convict who writes to pass the sentence

It is with labored breath I admit

I am shallow, inferior, and not worth

The pain and pleasure of loving me

The innate desire you have

To be close to me

Just cannot be repaid

My love

My love
