Keep Waking Me Up

I think somebody’s trying to wake me up

Because in the times I’m coldest inside

The sun shines brighter, clouds move faster

And the grass is greener on every side

I don’t know why people hang around

I don’t know why people love me

Made and always making mistakes

In each and every place and thing I do

I should be dead

But I keep waking up, all thanks to you

So don’t let me sleep through the storm

Don’t let me sleep through the pain

You kept my heart beating in the darkness

Conscious enough to know I wasn’t

So I’ll find a way to help you too

Through the wind, and the rain

You did it for me, again and again

I can’t repay the oxygen, or put the blood

On layaway

You didn’t save my day, but days

Not my life, but lives

Keeping me barely breathing keeps the future

And though I’m much to small

To mean so much

There’s no amount of thanks worthy

Never enough
