I stop to think

Of when I thought of you as future

As a present, in the present

For my patience, my mockery, and

devotion to believing in the power of destiny

I stop to time

The quaking of a heart that beats too fast

And hands that fell too far

Lips that closed too soon left her wanting

Finding someone else, I was left alongside

Only as a friend, and I watch from the rearview

How incredible love truly is

Time is not my friend, but ever present enemy

The reason I write for tomorrow

Help me forget the misgivings of today

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say
