Drowned Out

The wind silenced my failing

All of the deeds were drowned out

All of the misgivings nature determines

To forget

It won’t let me lonely, it won’t let be silent

It won’t let me take revenge on anyone

But me

Every day alive is an uppercut to the past

Every night is a knife in the gut of memory

All the sadness drowned out, all the pain

When I thrive today, I make yesterday seem

When I write tonight, I make the past seem

In spite of my need to always prove myself

Actions prove resilience

Accommodations prove growth

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say
