Seven

Seven letter name, that’s what I’ll give my love

A flood, washing over me

A dove come to sanctify me

And demon come to light a fire inside me

Insistent to terrify me, surprise me

In spite of the stumbling mess that is me

My wardrobe is deep, and my drawers

Are stuffed with dreams of outcast

Nightmares of the autism

And blood soaked horizons of the lover

Who would never be loved

If I could be any more disarrayed, I would

If I could be any more fractured, you know it

I would

But something inside keeps stirring

Churning away at the little bit of hope inside

She stares across the distant horizon

Singing to me

Don’t let me down

Don’t let me

Down
