Thinking They Did

Feeding on feelings long gone

I write one final song

To the one, and to the throng

That never cared about me

That I never cared about

Except long enough to think they did

Long enough to think I did

We were just summer flings, summer things

That we could reminisce on every other year

Every single time my conscious made fearful

The reality that we’re fake, I closed my mind

Each and every time, I couldn’t listen

Some of us want to believe the lies

Some of us have to lie to believe

But I never wanted either, I just wanted

To live

To live with you

Not the past-due reincarnation of my mind

But the real you

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say
