Sights & Words

I can’t change my mind

When there’s no consistency

To the breath I take, the sights I drape

On mankind and the cosmos

Always in question of what is real

What is illusion

I touch my skin to see if I’m still alive

We are burdened, scarred with shame

Cyclic reopening traumatizes flesh

I don’t ever want to leave the sanctuary

In fear of what would wreck me

Outside of gravity

Yet man desires the stars, and if he

Were to ever stop killing long enough

Stop sleeping long enough

He would realize he is made of stardust

With the power to outshine Andromeda

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say
