Tenants Want My Space and I’m Overwhelmed

I’m in a little bit

A little bit of rut

Where the walls are a little tighter

Tighter a little more

When the doors are little thinner

Thinner a little still

The winter breezes waltz right through

Cuddle right in between my ears

Tell me I’m not enough

Not enough anymore

There’s a need for greater reservation

Apparently, I’m getting new tenants

And they hate creativity

The writing has got to go

And the introspection?

Mocking laughter echoes in my head

Empty bottles drowned by drunkards

Clatter against the brick walls

Some catch the back of my head

I go to the basement

Unbothered
